Franschhoek Cellar 2019 Harvest Update

Harvest is in full swing at Franschhoek Cellar, with most white wines already fermenting away in the cellar and the reds gradually arriving too. Winemaker Ryan Puttick is pleased with the quality of the grapes received so far, noting good acidity and fruit purity as the stand-out features of this year's wine grape crop. Uneven ripening has been posing a bit of a challenge and a few bottlenecks in the harvest cellar, but these challenges notwithstanding, wine lovers can look forward to some cracking wines from the 2019 vintage, he says. “It looks like this vintage will deliver wonderfully balanced wines, with great depth and purity.”
