Bring on the Bubbly with Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival and Franschhoek Cellar
It's almost that time of the year again - time to celebrate the magic of bubbles at the Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival. This hotly anticipated annual event is taking place on 1 and 2 December 2018 at Franschhoek's iconic Huguenot Monument, and visitors can look forward to a bumper offering of the finest local MCC and French Champagne wines.
Among the fine selection of MCC bubbles will be the Franschhoek Cellar Brut Royale and Brut Rosé (only available at Cellar Door), two of the valley's foremost examples of bottle-fermented sparkling wine. The Brut Royale is an evocative non-vintage MCC with beautiful lemon cream and almond biscotti flavours on the nose, backed by refreshing citrus and tropical fruit notes on the palate. The Brut Rosé is a Pinot Noir-led MCC with a seductive salmon-pink blush, elegant red berry fruit, creamy length and a graceful finish.
At the Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival, the focus is not only on bubbly but also fashion, and the grand festival marquee will be oozing style, elegance and sophistication, so come dressed to impress. The dress theme for this year is Black and White, with a prize awarded to the Best Dressed Couple on each day. Adding to the superb wines on offer will be a selection of delectable culinary delights prepared by some of Franschhoek's world-class eateries.
